Phew! It's all go coming up to Samhain

I have begun to feel webs of synchronicity building up again in the last few days. It must be the crazy Samhain spirits making themsleves felt already. E.g. I had lamented the absence of woodpeckers and buzzards from the forest paths I cycle through daily to work. This was in one of those conversations generally lamenting a sort of end of the world or Gotterdämmerung - not to mention Ragnarok. Anyway, a day thereafter I took a turn in the forest and lo and behold a majestic buzzard with huge wingspan glided just above the ground, at waist height, passing across the path from one group of trees to another. It was just a few meters from me. The same day a deer leaped across the path. So the animals still exist, even if sometimes unbeknownst to man and his infernal doings. Even yesterday I turned up an obscure and recondite forest path to avoid being passed out by a rat-race speed-merchant and just a few meters in startled a deer who ran alongside me before veering off - shades of the hooded one running the forest in Mist of Avalon... That gloomy conversation led me to look up evidence of a diminution in bio-diversity in the region. Not at all - no trace thereof apart from the usual depredations. I looked at my brother's new GIS-environment work-site http://www.wwt.org.uk/text/335/wwt_consulting.html and saw that there are argus eyes on any changes in the environment, so masses of fauna are not going to disappear today or tomorrow without a general outcry. Crazy days at work, with satellites old and new deviating from the expected course of their destiny, once again proving that humans are needed to step in when automatic systems fail. Hope this blog post works and inaugerates a glorious future.
